4 days / 3 nights on the Canal du Midi,  2 848 $NZ per person in double room with full board

Warm and friendly reception for this mini cruise devoted to the discovery of the Canal du Midi, from Cassafières harbour to Poilhes.
The cruise departs from Portiragnes (located between Agde and Beziers) on the first day at about 5pm. Stop for the night after the first lock of Portiragnes. The next morning we depart around 10am, crossing three locks on the way to the port of Beziers. Lunch, then crossing of the Canal Bridge over the Orb River before arriving at the seven locks of Foncerannes. The ascension of this "staircase" of locks takes 45 minutes, after which we continue until Colombier where we will spend the night. The next day we pass through the tunnel of Malpas and stop to see the Etang de Montady, a marsh that was drained in the middle ages and now forms a star-shaped landscape of fields and vineyards. Night in Poilhes. In the morning, the journey continues with lunch at Capestang and a crossing of the smallest bridge on the canal. We then navigate Le Grand Bief, the longest level stretch of canal in France, with not a lock in sight as it twists and winds its way to Argeliers, our resting spot for the night. The next day stop at the intersection of the Canal du Midi with the Canal de la Robine, which goes through the city of Narbonne to the Mediterranean. Continue on to Le Somail for lunch.
